This book and disk was a project under the direction of Joel Kleinman, N1BKE, Manager of the Book Team at ARRL Headquarters.
Richard Roznoy, K1OF, wrote Chapters 2, 3 and 6. He received his Novice license at age 12. Active for over 35 years, he still enjoys a good rag chew and an occasional DX chase. As an avid home-brewer, he has built equipment ranging from QRP stations to kW amplifiers. With a B.S.E.E., he has held the position of Vice-President of Engineering for a computer peripheral manufacturer and a telecommunications company. For the past 12 years, as founder of RL Design Group, he specialized in the design, construction and installation of RF communications systems. He is active on the Internet and enjoys ham related applications. He is an Assistant Technical Editor on the ARRL staff.
Paul Danzer, N1II, proposed this project and was the book editor. He wrote Chapters 1, 4, 5, and 7. If you find any problems or have a suggestion, e-mail him N1II@ARRL.ORG or use the feedback form at the rear of the book.
Paul was first licensed as KN2DGR, and immediately became a member of the local teen-age novice group on 40-meter CW. After receiving a B.E.E. and an M.S.E.E., he spent his days as an aerospace engineer with 11 U.S. patents in the radar and electronics fields. At night he continued hamming, including writing over 60 ham radio and computer magazine articles and one book. He now spends his days as an Assistant Technical Editor on the ARRL staff, responsible for the Handbook, Operating Manual and several other books. At night he is still operating 40-meter CW.
