RF Test Engineer — Austin, TX
Specific Opportunities and Responsibilities:- Develop RF test solutions for IC's and wafers using commercially available automated test equipment (ATE). Project tasks may include test plan development, loadboard and probecard schematic design, translating design simulations to tester patterns, test program development for new IC's and wafers, test platform conversions, or test program optimization.
- Development on other device types, such as mixed-signal or digital IC's may be required.
- Integrate and sustain automated test benches and device fixtures designed by Senior-level engineers in order to facilitate validation and characterization testing of company products.
- Support delivery schedules of product to our customers.
- Employ our configuration management tools, including source code control and hardware documentation.
Requirements:
- This position requires a BSEE with at least five years of experience as a test engineer, including significant RF test engineering development.
- Must have extensive knowledge of RF test development and debug, and strong software development skills (including VB, C++, Matlab, Labview & C).
- Must also have extensive knowledge of electronic test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, noise figure meters, power meters, and phase noise systems.
- A solid understanding of RF circuits and systems is required.
- Knowledge of RF simulation tools is a plus. Candidates must be proficient with a soldering iron and able to work with SMT components in RF circuits.
- Experience on Agilent, Credence, LTX, or Teradyne platforms is strongly preferred, as well as the ability to develop test solutions for mixed-signal or digital devices as needed.

Position Overview:
Lead design and development of RFIC & Digital/Mixed-Signal ASICs for advanced asset tracking systems. Provide technical leadership in the full chip design process and life-cycle. Provide key technical contributions to the architecture, analysis and floor plan of devices. Responsibilities will include:
* Lead architecture, design and verification of circuits, logic, systems, and algorithms to meet product requirements.
* Determine IC design approaches and parameters.
* Oversee custom layout, including work of layout designers.
* Evaluate design results using laboratory IC measurements.
* Report design progress through design reviews.
* Determine methods and procedures to be used in development of RF / Digital ICs.
* Determine optimum methods for verification of layouts and design prior to committing to silicon.
* Interface with wafer manufacturing in transfer of design files.
Qualifications:
* Minimum BSEE (or relevant) and applicable experience in Mixed-Signal and/or RFIC design.
* Experience introducing at least one product to market as a chip designer.
* Design skills desired in some of the following areas:
-- RF Circuit Design (LNAs, Mixers, PLLs, Synthesizers) -- High Speed Digital Circuit Design
